SCOPE OF WORK:
1. Proceeds with work from plans and specifications, supervising small crews, has knowledge of all electrical equipment and major tools, possessing a journeyman license or equivalent experience. Understands the scope of drawings and demonstrates an ability to supervise others in their work performance.
2. Directs and works with journeymen and helpers
3. Plans work - responsible for materials and tools
4. Install all work effectively
5. Troubleshoots all-electric systems
6. Monitors progress of work
7. Codes timesheets
8. Knowledge of safety, bending materials, test equipment, conductors, wiring, theory, and some NEC information.
9. Has knowledge of AC, motor theory, grounding, electrical materials selection and installation, services, contactors, relays, and lighting.
10. Knows load calculations, conductor selection, overcurrent protection, wiring devices, distribution equipment and transformers, motor calculation/maintenance/controls, HVAC, and hazardous locations.
11. Knows feeder and service load calculations, industrial and specialty lighting, emergency systems, electronic theory, fire alarms, specialty transformers, advanced controls, motor maintenance, and high voltage cable.
12. Performs all electrical tasks with general supervision, can terminate cable, install and troubleshoot control wiring from drawings, demonstrate experience factors exceeding an electrical helper, and be sufficient on rough-in work. A journeyman would generally have this classification for the first year.

12.6. Motors and controls – troubleshooting
12.7. Has passed block test & has at least 24 months experience as a J-1
12.8. Supervises & works with a crew
12.9. Troubleshoots motors, controls, circuits & blueprints
12.10. Is proficient in layout & blueprints
12.11. Does rigging & setup for all operations
12.12. Has basic theory knowledge
Completes any other job-related duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1. LICENSES - Current Driver's License and have own transportation, some provided. Must have an electrical license from the state of Kentucky; prefer Master license.
2. EDUCATION - High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent training required by Educational Institution responsible for Apprentice Classes.
3. EXPERIENCE - Five or more years of previous electrical experience (residential/commercial/industrial).
4. MUST PASS A MANDATORY URINALYSIS DRUG/ALCOHOL SCREENING and Background check.
5. Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
6. Must be authorized to work in the US.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. The job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, snow.
2. The job requires an employee to have required personal tools with them at all times (waist tool belt as worn weighs approximately 30 lbs).
3. Work from all type ladders (step ladders up to 14', "A" frame ladders, and all size extension ladders and carry and relocate up to 12' step ladder by oneself.
4. Perform work at various heights, up to 90' or higher from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, or other safe work areas.
5. Work in restricted areas (switchgear room, utility holes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics).
6. Wear personal protective equipment, hard hat, safety glasses, respirator when required.
7. Able to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime as required, and night shifts.
SKILLS:
1. Positively identify colors of wires.
2. Comprehends reading and drawing prints and schematics of same.
3. Bend conduit by hand with hand benders.
4. Capable of digging trenches by use of hand tools or operator.
5. Practices and comprehends safe work procedures as outlined in Company Safety Policy Handbook, Haz-Com Policy, and Lockout/Tagout Policy.
6. Operates two (2) handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jackhammers, power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches.
7. Operates company trucks with manual and automatic transmission.
8. Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, and written instructions.
9. Operate and work from mechanical personnel lifts (electric or gas-powered).
PHYSICAL FUNCTION:
1. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
2. Lift 51 pounds.
3. Repetitive use of arms, hands, fingers, and feet.
4. Climb ladders.
5. Completing overhead work for full-day assignments.
6. Possess good vision (normal or corrected).
7. Responsible for securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete their assigned tasks.
