Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and warmly upon arrival, establishing a positive first impression.
- Manage restaurant reservations efficiently using popular table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction, maintaining organized flow throughout service hours.
- Answer phone inquiries with professionalism, providing accurate information about wait times and reservation details while practicing excellent phone etiquette.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host stand and waiting area to ensure a welcoming environment.
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to coordinate guest seating and special requests.
- Handle guest concerns or special needs with hospitality-focused solutions, ensuring guest relations are prioritized at all times.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a host/hostess or in food service is highly preferred, demonstrating familiarity with restaurant operations.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor that enhances guest relations.
- Experience managing restaurant reservations and familiarity with restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Excellent communication skills, including phone communication and proper phone etiquette.
- Basic math skills for handling waitlists, reservations, and billing processes when necessary.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and restaurant hygiene practices to maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tables and guest requests efficiently during busy hours.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
