Overview
Rosemead College is seeking a passionate and dedicated English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor to join our academic team. This position is ideal for an educator who enjoys working with adult English language learners from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. The successful candidate will create engaging, student-centered lessons that help students develop the language skills needed for academic, professional, and everyday success.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging ESL instruction for adult learners at various proficiency levels.
- Develop lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and learning objectives.
- Teach integrated language skills, including speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and interactive classroom environment that encourages student participation and language development.
- Assess student progress through quizzes, assignments, presentations, and other classroom assessments.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student records in accordance with school policies.
- Provide timely feedback and academic support to help students achieve their learning goals.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, and curriculum improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with academic staff to support student success and maintain instructional quality.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Linguistics, Education, or a closely related field; OR
- Bachelor's degree with a recognized TESOL/TEFL certificate and relevant ESL teaching experience.
- Experience teaching English to adult learners is a plus.
- Strong understanding of second language acquisition and communicative language teaching methodologies.
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to teach students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
