NestEd Center for Development is seeking a compassionate, engaging, and growth-oriented Literacy Intervention Associate to support children with reading, writing, and learning challenges within a collaborative developmental setting.
This position is ideal for educators who are passionate about literacy, neurodiversity-affirming practices, and helping children build confidence and success as learners.
The Literacy Intervention Associate will work under the supervision and mentorship of NestEd’s Lead Literacy & Dyslexia Specialist while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team focused on supporting the whole child.
Responsibilities
- Provide structured literacy intervention and guided practice sessions for children with reading and writing challenges
- Implement intervention plans developed by the Lead Literacy & Dyslexia Specialist
- Support students in developing foundational literacy skills, reading fluency, spelling, written language, and academic confidence
- Build positive, encouraging, and relationship-centered connections with students
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate session documentation
- Communicate professionally with families and team members
- Adapt instruction for diverse learning styles, executive functioning needs, and regulation differences
- Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and collaborative planning

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, Elementary Education
- Experience working with children in educational, therapeutic, or intervention settings
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to engage, motivate, and build positive relationships with students
Preferred
- Teaching certificate or educational endorsement
- Experience providing academic intervention or tutoring
- Knowledge of dyslexia, learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, or related neurodevelopmental differences
- Experience with structured literacy approaches
- Interest in pursuing advanced training in reading intervention and dyslexia support
- Afternoon, evening, and/or weekend hours available
Training and mentorship in structured literacy approaches may be provided for strong candidates.
