POSITION GOAL
Provide tier 2 technical support, coordination, and coordination for district safety and security technology, ensuring reliable operation, rapid restoration, and high-quality service delivery
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1.*Provide tier 2 technical support for district safety and security technology including security cameras and video management software; door access control systems; fire and intrusion alarm systems; school visitor identification and emergency student reunification systems; intercom systems; network connected environmental sensors for vape detection with camera integration; student monitoring systems; law enforcement camera integration systems; walkthrough weapons detection systems; site protection drones; and technology hardware and systems for the Security Operations Center.
2.*Serve as escalation point for complex troubleshooting involving integrations (camera-to-analytics, sensor-to-video, alert-to-SOC workflows) and multi-site issues.
3.*Perform advanced configuration and programming (role-based access, door schedules, camera exports, alert routing, device health policies) in accordance with approvals and district standards.
4.*Coordinate and oversee vendor and contractor work; validate scope, testing, and acceptance to ensure systems are returned to full operational status.
5.*Support and maintain SOC technology (video walls/monitors, workstations, mapping/alert consoles) and verify continuity of critical feeds and alerts.
6.*Develop materials and provide training for school and department users on appropriate operation of safety and security systems.
7.*Monitor and update service requests daily; re-assign requests as needed and inform the Manager of Safety & Security Technical Support of escalations requiring attention.
8.*Analyze site-based reports, device health dashboards, and incident data for accuracy and to identify trends; recommend process improvements.
9.Serve as subject matter expert in emerging safety and security technologies for technicians and district stakeholders.
10.*Accept shift assignments (within a 40-hour week), including nights and weekends, as assigned.
11.*May require working during non-business hours or non-school days and being on call to resolve safety and security technology issues on an emergency basis.
12.*Keep current with hardware and software technology through education courses and self-study.
13.Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager of Safety & Security Technical Support, Director of Infrastructure, or CTO.
