Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and guide them to their tables with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff
- Provide menu recommendations, upsell specials and beverages to enhance the dining experience and increase sales
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and presentation
- Manage guest needs throughout their visit, addressing questions about menu items, dietary restrictions, or special requests with a friendly attitude
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS and cash handling procedures; process payments swiftly and securely
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and supporting kitchen staff as needed to ensure smooth operations
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs or upscale restaurants
- Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable for reservations and order management
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and hospitality excellence
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales opportunities
- Culinary experience or food preparation knowledge is a plus for understanding menu components and food handling procedures
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy shifts while maintaining quality service
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and inventory awareness
- Knowledge of sanitation standards, food safety protocols, and proper food handling practices
- Experience with serving in a fast-paced environment requiring quick thinking and adaptability
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members including host/hostess staff and kitchen personnel
