Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to join our team at ComforCare Portland South. As a Caregiver, you will provide assistance with daily living activities, personal care tasks, household and supportive services, and medication services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients and their families.
Responsibilities:
Provide assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, nail care, and oral hygiene
Assist with ambulation, transfers, range of motion exercises, safe use of equipment and assistive devices, and changing of position
Provide assistance with toileting, use of bedpan, commode, or urinal, and incontinent care
Assist with meal planning, preparation, and assistance with feeding
Provide emotional support and motivation through conversation, encouragement, and recreational activities
Maintain accurate records and reports any abnormalities in client condition
Present and conduct yourself in a professional manner according to agency policy and the ComForCare Caregiver Job Description
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Must possess a current driver's license, proof of vehicle registration, and valid insurance
Must have the ability to accurately follow and process written and verbal instructions
Must possess the ability to communicate effectively and interact with clients, client representatives, family members, caregivers, and administrative staff
Must adhere to Agency policy and procedures at all times
Certification Requirements:
Certified caregivers will be required to present copies of their current certification for inclusion in their personnel file
Caregivers providing Medication Services to a client are required to complete 5 IPCED courses designed to provide detailed information and instruction
A one-hour in-service of medication education will be required annually to continue providing medication services to our clients
