Your Responsibilities as a Construction Inspector:
- Inspect, observe, and ensure construction projects—including road construction, mass grading and excavation and bridges are completed in accordance with contract plans and specifications.
- Interpret plans and specifications to contractors and clients.
- Prepare and maintain records of plans, inspections, letters, and reports used in connection with roadway and bridge inspection.
- Identify contract changes and assist in preparation of change orders.
- Travel to project sites as required.
What we're looking for:
- Good knowledge of the practices used, and the equipment required on construction projects, particularly in the areas of roadway grading, paving and bridge operations.
- Strong ability to work independently and take initiative.
- A clean driving record.
- Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) IQP qualifications or willingness to take required exams to obtain them preferred.
