Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Shipping/Office Assistant to join our team! Perfect for a teen after school or a retired person looking for a part time job.
* PART TIME - 9-10 hours a week (3-4 days a week, 2-3 hours a day - We can work this out. Afternoon is preferred.)
This position combines invoice creation (Sage Peachtree for customer data and invoicing) with shipping coordination (UPS and USPS label creation and packing - not heavy!) with office support (answering phone, taking orders, directing callers). The ideal candidate will thrive in an organized environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills and positive attitude.
Duties
- Manage shipping and receiving processes, including preparing shipments (not heavy!), tracking deliveries, and coordinating with UPS and USPS online to confirm timely delivery for clients.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments, inventory, and related documentation using software tools such as Sage Peachtree and WORD and Excel.
- Serve as the phone answering person and directing calls with professional phone etiquette.
- Assist with general office management tasks such as filing, data entry, proofreading documents, checking inventory supplies, and organizing supplies.
- Provide exceptional customer support by responding promptly to inquiries via phone or email and maintaining positive communication.
- Perform clerical duties such as typing correspondence, updating databases, checking inventory, and ensuring all office equipment is functioning properly.
Qualifications
- Be comfortable with multiple tabs being open on a computer screen at once.
- Proven experience in office administration or clerical role.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Workspace, and data entry platforms.
- Familiarity with USPS and UPS Worldship and Sage (or other such inventory program like Quickbooks) for bookkeeping and basic financial recordkeeping is desirable but not required (easily taught and learned!).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and positive attitude.
- Ability to manage time effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Comfortable climbing stairs as office is on one floor and packing room on another.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
