Responsibilities
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process cash, credit, and debit transactions while maintaining quick service.
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product inquiries or demos to promote sales.
- Manage cash handling procedures with precision, including giving correct change and balancing registers at shift end.
- Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, ensuring products are well-stocked and merchandised attractively.
- Upsell relevant products by suggesting complementary items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when taking orders or answering inquiries from customers or vendors.
- Support stock replenishment by assisting with stocking shelves and merchandising displays as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store setting is MUST (1 to 2 years).
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
- Strong communication skills to engage positively with customers and team members.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively.
- Experience supervising or mentoring team members is advantageous but not mandatory; leadership qualities are valued.
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, and product demos will help you excel in this role.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Required to have food permit.
Pay: $17.13 - $18.75 per hour
