The Recovery Center of Niagara provides high-quality, best-practice patient care while serving our local recovery community. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Unit Counselor to act as a role model, maintain a safe therapeutic environment, and assist our clients in their journey to healthy functioning and long-term recovery.
Key Responsibilities

Case Management & Counseling: Maintain a Detox and inpatient unit. carry a personal caseload, facilitate weekly individual and group counseling sessions, and perform clinical assessments/intakes as needed.

Patient Advocacy & Care: Assure patients adhere to program schedules, encourage positive peer interactions, and assist with clinical discharge processes to ensure patients receive all required referrals.

Clinical Monitoring: Observe clients for inconsistent behavior, de-escalate crisis situations, and provide comprehensive shift reports to clinical and nursing staff.

Life Skills Education: Educate clients on daily living activities, ensure healthy functioning, and assist staff with monthly skills-based dependency workshops.

Case Conferences: Assist in the preparation of weekly case conferences, case reviews, and help process agency-wide incident reports.

Facility Maintenance: Always maintain strict patient confidentiality, enforce regulatory standards, and assist in maintaining a clean shared work environment.
Shift -Tuesday to Saturday 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm!

Minimum Qualifications:

In school for social work or relatable field

High school diploma or equivalent

New Grads in social work and CASAC credentialed encouraged to apply.
