Position Summary:
The Benefit Assistant – Small Business Unit (SBU) serves as the operational engine for our small group portfolio. Working with Benefit Advocates, this role executes high-accuracy administrative workflows, manages carrier relationships, and delivers flawless proactive client support.
What You will Do:
- Operational Execution: Execute systematic, reproducible processes—including standardized checklists and branded templates—to maintain exceptional service quality.
- Data & Analytics: Perform insurance plan quoting, build comprehensive market comparison spreadsheets, and maintain data integrity within the internal CRM database.
- Client Deliverables: Create, update, and finalize client-facing open enrollment benefit guides and educational materials.
- Account Support: Guide small business clients through annual renewal decisions and provide ongoing support for groups and their employees.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot carrier billing friction and process enrollment eligibility changes accurately.
- Relationship Management: Build collaborative relationships with internal teams, external carrier representatives, and client contacts.
- Operational Agility: Provide general administrative support and participate in ongoing professional development to expand industry knowledge.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Background: Associate degree required and minimum of 1 year of professional office experience; experience in insurance, human resources, or employee benefits preferred.
- Licensing: Active Minnesota Life and Health Insurance license is preferred, or a willingness to obtain it within the first 3 months of employment).
- Execution: Persistent problem-solving skills with a commitment to accurate, clear results.
- Technical Savvy: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically excel for spreadsheeting, Word, and PowerPoint) and comfort navigating cloud-based platforms.
- Core Competencies: Exceptional organizational skills, daily prioritization habits, and a logical approach to problem-solving.
Physical/Miscellaneous Requirements:
- Ability to lift 20 pounds
- Ability to work indoors in a hybrid office setting
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
