Duties
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries by preparing equipment and restraining animals safely
- Provide compassionate care by feeding, bathing, and monitoring animals’ health status throughout their visit
- Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas, kennels, surgical rooms, and equipment to uphold the highest standards of hygiene and safety
- Support client communication by answering questions, scheduling appointments, and providing educational information about animal health
- Restock supplies regularly to ensure all necessary materials are available for daily operations
- Observe animals closely for any signs of distress or illness and report findings promptly to the veterinary team
- Help with administrative tasks such as recording patient information, updating medical records, and managing inventory
Requirements
- Genuine love for animals with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, or sit for extended periods during busy shifts
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
- Basic understanding of animal behavior and handling techniques; previous experience is a plus but not required
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow detailed instructions accurately
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Certification in animal first aid or related training is advantageous but not mandatory
