HOURS: Between 22.5 and 29.5 hours a week
QUALIFICATIONS:

Must pass a State specified physical exam annually, and be able to obtain and retain a CDL, class B with P, S endorsements with no restrictions.

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.

Ability to learn laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to school bus operations and pupil transportation.

Ability to maintain order and safety among students on the bus.

Ability to learn designated bus route including stops and traffic hazards.

Maintain simple records.
-
Ability to communicate clearly and in a positive manner.
-
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationship with those contacted in the course of the work day.

Must be able to understand mechanical functions of a bus and be able to report vehicle defects.

Must be able to learn and perform new skills.
-
Demonstrate mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the requirements of the position.

Must enjoy working with children and the public in general.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Perform a pre-trip prior to each trip.
-
Obey all traffic laws, regulations, rules and policies and have working knowledge of PA187.

Maintain accurate and complete passenger list including emergency contact information for each student being transported.

Manage student behavior on the bus.

Offer due process to all students.

Supervise loading and unloading of students at designated drop off locations.

Keep assigned bus cleaned each day.

Report all accidents and complete all proper forms.

Attend all meetings that are requested or required.

Follow all district directives, both written and verbal.
-
Ensure mirror alignment.
-
Perform any other duties as assigned or needed.
