The Director of Quality & Continuous Improvement (DQCI) is responsible for the Management of the Wolf Hills Quality Management System (QMS). In addition, the DCQI will champion the Wolf Hills’ Continuous Improvement Program. The DCQI will assist with the Health, Safety and Environmental Activities, as required.
Responsibilities and Duties
- General Management and Maintenance of the Wolf Hills QMS, and primary responsibility for continuing compliance with ISO9001 and ongoing third-party Accreditation.
- Champion and Chair all Contract Reviews for new orders when received. DCQI will prepare Production and QC Documentation and prepare Shop Job Packets for review and issue at Project Launch.
- Manage Internal Audit Program, mentoring and assisting Wolf Hills’ Internal Auditors as required. DQCI will assist in addressing any Non-Conformances and provide guidance for implementing corrective actions arising from audit activities.
- Assist President in the production and dissemination of the daily, weekly and monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) utilized to monitor the ongoing effectiveness of the QMS. DQCI will develop and maintain additional KPI’s as required.
- Actively promote the generation of formal non-conformances for all Customer Complaints from both Internal and External Customers. DQCI will develop standard processes for addressing each complaint, including Mind-Maps, Root Cause Analyses and Corrective Action Proposals. DQCI will monitor corrective actions for effectiveness and close complaints appropriately.
- Champion and Manage the Wolf Hills’ Continuous Improvement program (CIP). DQCI will form a cross functional team to meet regularly to identify and log CIP opportunities, and update and distribute accordingly. CIP team will be dynamic, with membership changing on the team, quarterly. DQCI will assist the VP Operations in Process Mapping, in an attempt to identify standard processes and explore opportunities for LEAN savings through process change and the development of Standard Work Procedures.
- Assist Wolf Hills Inspection Staff with all shopfloors in process inspection and Exit Approval processes. DQCI will mentor appropriately and assist in developing standardized reporting and record keeping procedures.
- Assist in all Virginia DEQ Record Keeping and Compliance activities. This will include Storm Water and Air Permit related activities.
- Assist in Wolf Hills Safety Management Program, including post-accident / near miss Root Cause Analyses and corrective actions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree minimum, preferred.
- 5+ Years Experience in Quality Management role in Manufacturing.
- Lead Auditor Certification (ISO9001, or equivalent)
- Lean Six-Sigma Certification, preferred.
- Knowledge of Metal Fabrication/Welding, preferred.
- Strong Computer Skills including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Proficiency in MS Access, preferred.
- Excellent Interpersonal Communication Skill
