We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional grooming services. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of pets while delivering high-quality grooming services that meet the needs of both pets and their owners.
Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and cats.
- Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques.
- Handle animals safely and effectively, utilizing proper animal restraint methods when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use.
- Communicate with pet owners about their pets' grooming needs and any health concerns observed during grooming sessions.
- Provide additional services such as ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and flea treatments as needed.
- Assist in the care of animals in the facility, including feeding, walking, and general animal handling.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive experience for pets and their owners.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in pet grooming or related fields such as kennel work, veterinary assistance, or animal care is preferred.
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to manage various temperaments of pets.
- Knowledge of different breeds’ grooming requirements is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger animals or equipment.
- Experience with animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during grooming procedures.
- A background in dog training or pet sitting can be beneficial but is not required.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
- A compassionate attitude towards animals and a commitment to their well-being.
