Description:
Are you a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant who enjoys helping patients navigate their surgical journey? The Spine Hospital of Louisiana is seeking an experienced Certified or Registered Medical Assistant to join our ClearPath Surgical Clinic.
As a Medical Assistant, you'll play an essential role in preparing patients for surgery by providing exceptional clinical and administrative support while delivering an outstanding patient experience from start to finish.
What You'll Do

Welcome and prepare patients for their ClearPath Surgical Clinic appointments.

Obtain vital signs, medical histories, medication information, and other pre-admission data.

Perform EKGs and assist with preoperative testing and documentation.

Coordinate appointments, referrals, and specialty clearances.

Communicate with surgeons' offices, anesthesia providers, hospital departments, and outside healthcare providers.

Educate patients using standardized preoperative instructions and answer questions throughout the surgical preparation process.

Maintain accurate electronic medical records while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Support a collaborative, patient-centered team dedicated to surgical excellence.
Requirements:
Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
Experience:

Minimum of two (2) years of Medical Assistant experience in a physician's office, outpatient clinic, surgical clinic, hospital, pre-admission testing, or similar healthcare setting.
Licenses/Certificates:

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
