Allied Electric Technology (AET) is a growing commercial electrical contractor specializing in commercial lighting maintenance, electrical service work, LED lighting upgrades, and energy-efficient solutions for commercial properties throughout Arizona.
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Part-Time Billing Specialist to support our invoicing operations. This position plays an important role in ensuring completed work is accurately billed and customers receive invoices promptly.
This role is ideal for a college student studying business, accounting, construction management, or a related field, or for an early-career professional looking to gain real-world business experience. Student status is not required—we are looking for the right person.
This is an on-site position based at our headquarters in Tempe, Arizona. All work is performed using company computers, company software, and company email. Remote work is not available.
What You'll Do
As our Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately converting completed work into customer invoices while maintaining organized billing records and following established procedures.
Responsibilities include:
- Review completed work orders in Service Fusion marked "Ready for Billing"
- Generate customer invoices for:
- Lighting maintenance work
- Electrical service calls
- Time & Material (T&M) work
- Small projects
- Progress billings
- Approved estimates converted to invoices
- Review technician work orders, notes, photos, and time entries
- Verify invoices accurately reflect completed work
- Send customer invoices on a daily basis
- Print and maintain organized billing records
- Flag missing or unclear documentation for management review
- Follow established billing procedures and documentation standards
You will receive structured training, written procedures, and ongoing support. Previous electrical industry experience is not required.

Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed coursework in business, accounting, construction management, or a related field (preferred but not required)
- Comfortable using computers and learning new software
- Experience with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace is helpful
- Previous office, administrative, or billing experience is a plus but not required

Schedule
- Approximately 20 hours per week
- Monday through Friday
- 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- On-site at AET's headquarters in Tempe, Arizona
As the company continues to grow, there may be opportunities for additional hours and expanded responsibilities.
Compensation
- $20.00–$23.00 per hour
- Starting pay based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated attention to detail
