Family Services has an immediate opening for a Part-Time Direct Service Staff member at our Family Shelter.
This rewarding position provides an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families experiencing homelessness. As a member of our shelter team, you will encourage, support, and empower residents as they work toward achieving stable housing, employment, and greater self-sufficiency.
Hours Needed:
- Sunday and Monday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Additional fill-in shifts as needed
What You'll Do
As a Direct Service Staff member, you will:
- Provide empowerment-focused case management and supportive counseling services.
- Assist residents with housing stability, independent living skills, employment searches, resume preparation, interview skills, and job retention.
- Connect residents with community resources and coordinate referrals based on individual needs.
- Complete admissions, discharges, progress notes, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Facilitate house meetings and help resolve communal living concerns.
- Provide crisis intervention and support during challenging situations.
- Ensure a safe, respectful, and trauma-informed living environment for all residents.
- Monitor shelter activities, house rules, curfews, and resident safety.
- Assist with shelter operations, including room checks, inventory management, donations, housekeeping oversight, and emergency procedures.
- Work collaboratively with residents, coworkers, and community partners to promote positive outcomes.

Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license required
- Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and all required background checks
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting wage: $15.00 per hour
