Job Title: Regional Project Consultant/Sales (Quota-Carrying)
Location: NY/MA
Travel: 50% (required)
Job Type: Full-time
Regional Sales Project Consultant
Technical Healthcare Sales | Construction Specifications | Multi-State Territory
Kingsway Group is hiring a quota-carrying Regional Sales Project Consultant to grow an established territory by developing new projects, expanding strategic accounts, and positioning Kingsway solutions early in the design and construction process.
This is not a project management position.
It is a field-based sales role for someone who enjoys prospecting, building relationships and navigating complex, long-cycle projects involving healthcare leaders, architects, general contractors, distributors and construction teams.
Kingsway Group is a global manufacturer of anti-ligature and anti-barricade products engineered to improve safety in behavioral health, mental health and custodial environments. The company has established a strong international market position and continues to grow rapidly in North America.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base: $120,000
- Variable/Commission: target $60,000 at plan
- OTE: typically ~$180k+ at plan with company success goals
- Car Allowance: $12,000/year + business mileage
What You Will Own
- Build a territory plan and consistently create net-new pipeline through phone, email, LinkedIn, industry networking and in-person prospecting.
- Develop relationships with behavioral health facilities, health systems, architects, general contractors, distributors and project stakeholders.
- Identify capital projects early and influence product selection before specifications and construction plans are finalized.
- Guide opportunities from initial discovery through specification, bid, award and delivery.
- Understand the needs of facility leaders, clinical teams and end users, then connect those needs to practical safety solutions.
- Conduct site visits, project meetings, product presentations and educational sessions.
- Work collaboratively with estimating, design, inside sales and technical product specialists.
- Maintain accurate opportunities, next steps, forecasts and activity in Salesforce.
- Travel approximately 50% throughout the assigned multi-state territory.
The existing Kingsway job description similarly defines the role as engaging IDNs, private healthcare providers, architects, general contractors and construction teams, while guiding projects from initial inquiry through specification and delivery.
What Success Looks Like
You do not wait for leads or rely solely on RFPs.
You research projects, identify the right stakeholders, make the calls, visit facilities and continue following up until you earn a conversation.
You are comfortable:
- Walking into a facility or contractor’s office to introduce yourself.
- Building relationships over a six-to-eighteen-month sales cycle.
- Working independently across a large geography.
- Asking questions when you do not yet know the answer.
- Learning technical products quickly and speaking credibly with customers.
- Bringing internal product experts into opportunities at the right time.
- Balancing new-logo hunting with the development of existing strategic accounts.
- Staying connected with your team while operating autonomously in the field.
The Profile We Are Seeking
The strongest candidates will bring several of the following:
- Proven success in outside sales, territory development or business development.
- Experience selling a technical, engineered or complex solution.
- A track record of creating pipeline through proactive prospecting.
- Experience working with hospitals, healthcare systems, behavioral health organizations or other institutional end users.
- Construction or capital-project sales experience involving architects, contractors, engineers, distributors or specifiers.
- Familiarity with construction timelines, architectural drawings, project specifications or basis-of-design selling.
- Experience with doors, hardware, building products, medical equipment, safety systems, security, access control, interiors or other specification-driven products.
- Strong CRM and forecasting discipline, preferably in Salesforce.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% and take full ownership of a multi-state territory.
Experience in behavioral health or anti-ligature products is valuable, but it is not required. Kingsway can teach the product category. The harder qualities to teach are consistent prospecting, curiosity, resilience, customer empathy and the willingness to get into the field.
The formal role requirements also emphasize clinical/build-environment selling, capital-project knowledge, architectural specifications, the ability to interpret drawings and comfort traveling independently throughout an assigned territory.
You May Be a Strong Fit If You Have Sold
- Healthcare or behavioral health products
- Medical or capital equipment
- Security, access control or life-safety systems
- Doors, hardware, windows or architectural products
- Commercial interiors or specialty building materials
- Technical products through architects, engineers or general contractors
- Complex solutions involving end users, contractors and design professionals
This Role Is Probably Not a Fit If
- Most of your experience is project coordination without quota ownership.
- You prefer account management over developing new business.
- You rely primarily on inbound leads or existing relationships.
- You are uncomfortable cold calling, visiting customers or entering unfamiliar facilities.
- You do not want to travel regularly throughout a multi-state territory.
- You need complete product mastery before speaking with a prospective customer.
Why Kingsway
- Rapidly growing North American operation
- Specialized, mission-driven products that support patient and staff safety
- Existing customers and market traction within the territory
- Consultative, technical sales environment
- Opportunity to influence projects from concept through delivery
- Collaborative support from inside sales, estimating, design and product specialists
- Significant opportunity to build a region and grow with the company
Kingsway’s core values center on building a winning team, creating products that solve meaningful customer challenges and delivering an excellent customer experience.
