Job Summary
The Fur Seasons Mobile Vet is a brand-new mobile veterinary clinic with the goal of providing high quality, affordable preventative care to the El Paso community, and we’re looking for a motivated, dependable, and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team from the ground up.
In this vital role, you will provide compassionate animal care, assist veterinarians during procedures, and ensure the highest standards of medical treatment and client service. Your expertise will help create a positive environment where animals receive exceptional care and clients feel confident in our services. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarian with spays and neuters
- Perform proper animal handling and restraint to ensure safety and comfort for animals during examinations and treatments.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments accurately following veterinary protocols.
- Collect laboratory samples for testing, such as blood draws and urine collection
- Properly cleaning, packaging, and sterilizing surgical instruments
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the mobile clinic
- Maintaining medical records using veterinary computer software
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding preventative care plans, medication instructions, and post-procedure care.
Qualifications
For Vaccine Veterinary Technician:
- Comfortable administering subcutaneous injections and vaccines under veterinarian supervision
- Experienced with venipuncture and blood collection
- Able to safely handle and restrain dogs and cats
- Familiar with basic veterinary terminology
- Comfortable educating clients about vaccines, heartworm prevention, flea and tick prevention, and other preventative care
- Friendly, professional, and able to communicate clearly with pet owners
For Veterinary Anesthesia Technician:
- Experience assisting with spays and neuters
- Experience placing IV catheters
- Able to intubate, induce, and safely monitor patients under anesthesia, including SpO₂, EtCO₂, heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and temperature
- Able to recognize changes in patient status, communicate concerns to the veterinarian, and troubleshoot anesthesia machine
- Experience monitoring patients throughout anesthetic recovery
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills
- Strong client communication skills
