Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities and health management. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs, mental state, and overall condition; report any concerns promptly
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed care plans while maintaining HIPAA compliance for confidentiality
- Support clients with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met and dietary restrictions are followed
- Utilize patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility and transfers
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ quality of life and promote mental well-being
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient observations, and any incidents according to facility protocols
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities or home health environments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated experience with patient observation, monitoring vital signs, and implementing care plans
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities support
- Hands-on experience with manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and emergency response protocols including CPR and first aid certification
- Background working with diverse populations including geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary while ensuring safety for both client and caregiver
