We partner with hotel owners and investors to drive operational performance, maximize asset value, and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Our team brings expertise across all areas of hospitality management, including hotel operations, revenue management, sales and marketing, e-commerce, finance and accounting, human resources, food and beverage, engineering, and capital planning. With a performance-driven approach and strong relationships across the major hotel brands, Magna is focused on delivering results for our ownership partners while continuing to strategically grow our management platform.
About the Role
Magna Hospitality Group is seeking a strategic, results-driven Executive Vice President of Revenue and Commercial Strategy to drive the company's commercial vision and leadership across our growing portfolio of hotels. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role has equal oversight of three core commercial disciplines – Revenue Management, Sales & Marketing, and E-Commerce – and is charged with maximizing overall hotel revenue and bottom-line profitability across the portfolio.
The EVP will oversee the Senior Vice President of Revenue Management, the Vice Presidents of Sales and Marketing (Magna Hospitality Group and Bridge Hotel Group), and the e-commerce/digital marketing team, providing each discipline with equal strategic direction and investment while strengthening the connections between all three to optimize total portfolio profitability. The EVP will bring a commanding, credible presence to the role – able to communicate strategy clearly down through their teams and up to ownership and the executive committee, while constantly evaluating company resources, systems, policies, and procedures to ensure the organization is positioned to maximize long-term profitability.
Responsibilities
The EVP of Revenue and Commercial Strategy carries equal responsibility across three divisions – Revenue Management, Sales & Marketing, and E-Commerce – supported by shared cross-functional leadership duties.
Revenue Management
-
Develop and execute an enterprise-wide revenue management strategy across a diverse portfolio of branded and independent hotels, communicating that strategy clearly down through direct reports and up to ownership.
- Partner with hotel ownership groups, asset managers, and General Managers to set pricing, inventory, and distribution strategies that maximize RevPAR, RevPAR Index, and total revenue.
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of revenue management systems (RMS), central reservation systems, and business intelligence tools (e.g., IDeaS, Duetto).
- Analyze market trends, competitive positioning, demand generators, and economic indicators - leveraging data analysis, market/hotel pace reports, and STR data on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis with stakeholders to drive RevPAR and market share gains.
- Direct annual revenue budgeting, forecasting, and business planning in partnership with the Finance team, incorporating anticipated market growth and hotel penetration expectations.
- Establish and monitor key performance metrics (RevPAR, ADR, occupancy, RevPAR Index, GOP) and present results and strategic recommendations to ownership and the executive leadership team.
- Drive the portfolio's long-term stabilization plan as part of the company's semi-annual asset valuation meetings.
Sales & Marketing
-
Set the overarching sales and marketing strategy for the portfolio, aligning group, transient, and catering strategies with overall revenue and profitability goals.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Vice Presidents of Sales and Marketing (Magna Hospitality Group and Bridge Hotel Group) and their teams, fostering a team-oriented, accountable culture.
- Utilize upper-level brand relationships to extract all available value opportunities across the portfolio.
- Guide senior teams on the costs and impacts of business acquisitions to their sales and marketing strategies and business models.
- Represent Magna Hospitality Group in brand sales and marketing councils, owner meetings, and industry forums.
- Evaluate new hotel acquisition, development, and repositioning opportunities, providing sales and marketing input and market analysis to support investment decisions.
- Develop key performance metrics for the sales and marketing discipline and present results and strategic recommendations to ownership and the executive leadership team.
E-Commerce
-
Own the e-commerce, digital marketing, and online revenue strategy across the portfolio, including brand.com, OTA merchandising, and third-party digital channels.
- Ensure an optimal distribution strategy across OTAs, GDS, brand.com, and direct channels, while actively managing distribution costs and channel mix.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the e-commerce and digital marketing team, building industry-leading digital capabilities across the portfolio.
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of digital marketing platforms and tools that support online revenue and distribution.
- Stay current on emerging trends in pricing science, distribution technology, and digital marketing analytics, recommending innovations that strengthen the company's competitive position.
- Track, measure, and evaluate the success of all e-commerce and digital marketing metrics, presenting results and strategic recommendations to ownership and the executive leadership team.
- Partner with Revenue Management and Sales & Marketing leadership to ensure digital strategy is fully aligned with pricing, distribution, and topline goals.
Cross-Functional Leadership
-
Lead and motivate a combined team of Revenue Management, Sales & Marketing, and E-Commerce professionals through a team-oriented culture, strengthening the connection between each vertical to optimize profitability.
- Secure, develop, grow, and retain an industry-leading talent base across all three disciplines, and drive adoption of best practices, standard operating procedures, and training programs company-wide.
- Constantly evaluate company resources, systems, policies, and procedures across Revenue, Sales, and E-Commerce to ensure the company is positioned to maximize long-term profitability.
- Conduct regular property visits, including active, consultative participation in Revenue Management Meetings and Business Review Meetings; complete property visit reports and conduct follow-up visits to consult on corrective action.
- Conduct annual performance reviews and provide coaching and counseling as needed for improved performance across all three teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Hospitality Management, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive, senior leadership experience spanning revenue management, sales and marketing, and e-commerce disciplines in the hotel industry, including experience overseeing multi-property portfolios.
- Proven track record of driving RevPAR Index growth and total revenue performance across branded and independent hotels, alongside demonstrated success building sales and e-commerce/digital organizations.
- Deep expertise with major hotel brands' (Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG) revenue management, sales, and digital marketing systems, tools, and reporting, along with extensive knowledge of yield management, e-commerce, and online revenue strategies.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical and strategic planning capabilities, with the ability to perform statistical analyses, analyze financial and market data, and determine and position rates accordingly.
- Hands-on experience with revenue management systems (IDeaS, Duetto, or similar), digital marketing and e-commerce platforms, business intelligence tools, and property management and reservations systems.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to build, develop, and retain high-performing teams across multiple disciplines, and to interact effectively with all levels of management.
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence ownership, asset managers, and executive leadership.
- Strong knowledge of distribution channels, e-commerce, and the digital marketing landscape as it intersects with revenue and sales strategy.
- Ability to track, measure, and evaluate the success of all business metrics across Revenue, Sales, and E-Commerce; strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to managed properties as business needs require.
