We are seeking a kind and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office by providing great patient care, check in/ out, scheduling appointments, etc. After the interview we may offer for you to shadow a few hours to see how our practice looks and if we are a good fit for you. Great job for an organized person wanting to learn. We have nice patients and staff, a pleasant work environment and our team works well together. Friendly, happy and flexible personality with great customer service. Well established private family practice office located in the Publix shopping center at University and Dean. Medical experience required. Opportunities to learn. Would like full time, or almost full time employe, 25-40 hours but need coverage for afternoons. Private practice so we cross train for all positions so we can help each other on busy days. We do a lot of preventive care, in addition to chronic disease management and acute care. Salary neg.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out processes.
- Manage medical scheduling, ensuring efficient appointment booking and follow-ups.
- Maintain accurate patient records and files in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions.
- Handle administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, and managing correspondence.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical billing, coding, and scheduling systems is highly desirable.
- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Pay: $17.74 - $20.00 per hour
