American First Builders Corp. | Scottsdale, AZ | Full-Time
About AFB
American First Builders Corp. is a family-owned luxury custom home building and development company headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ, with active projects across Arizona, Utah, and Nevada. We build high-end custom residences, hillside and multi-level homes, and Haven Series subdivision developments. Our projects range from $2M to $10M+ and demand the highest standards of craftsmanship and field leadership.
Position Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Construction Superintendent to manage 2–3 large-scale luxury custom home projects simultaneously. This is a senior field leadership role — you will own the site from dirt to keys. You will be responsible for daily operations, subcontractor coordination, schedule management, quality control, and inspections across all active projects. You report directly to the President and Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily field operations across 2–3 concurrent luxury custom home job sites
- Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules; drive the critical path across multiple active projects
- Coordinate subcontractor scheduling with 3–4 week look-ahead planning
- Lead field operations on hillside and multi-level builds — shoring, retaining systems, stepped foundations, structural steel
- Enforce quality standards against plans and specs at every phase
- Schedule and attend all municipal inspections; keep projects permit-compliant at all times
- Maintain daily logs, site photos, and proactive communication with the office team
- Hold subcontractors accountable to scope, schedule, and quality without hesitation
- Represent AFB professionally in all client and owner interactions
- Enforce OSHA and job site safety on all projects
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years in residential construction; 7+ years as a superintendent or lead field role
- Proven experience managing 2–3 high-value luxury custom home projects at the same time
- Hillside construction experience is required — shoring, grading, stepped foundations, retaining systems, and/or structural steel
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings
- Strong knowledge of all residential trades: concrete, framing, steel, roofing, waterproofing, MEP, tile, cabinetry, and finish carpentry
- Familiar with Arizona municipal permitting and inspection processes
- Proficient with scheduling and project management tools (Buildertrend, MS Project, or similar)
- Organized, self-directed, and able to manage priorities across multiple sites independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Paradise Valley, Scottsdale, Camelback Mountain, or comparable luxury hillside markets
- Structural steel experience — moment frames, post-and-beam, beam and columns
- Established trade relationships in the Greater Phoenix / Scottsdale market
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Performance bonus tied to schedule, quality, and client satisfaction
- Company vehicle or vehicle allowance
- Phone and field equipment provided
Pay: $60,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
