Registered Nurse (RN) – Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Location: Johnson City, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days (12-hour shifts)
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts | 36 Hours per Week | Every Other Weekend
Job Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients while serving as the primary or accountable nurse as designated.
- Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management using available resources.
- Safely administer medications utilizing a working knowledge of pharmacology and following established policies.
- Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies while participating in quality improvement, shared governance, and professional development initiatives.
- Support a positive learning environment for new employees and students while integrating evidence-based practice into patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Current BLS & ACLS certification.
- Minimum 5 years of recent Registered Nurse experience.
- Minimum 5 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown/PCU or Cardiac Telemetry experience required.
- Experience caring for patients with TAVR, Watchman procedures, MitraClip, heart catheterizations, pre- and post-operative open-heart patients, CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias, NSTEMI, STEMI, pulmonary embolism, sepsis, pneumonia, stroke, and observation patients.
- Experience administering cardiac IV and oral medications, including fixed-rate drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Heparin, and Insulin.
- Experience with TR Band management, groin site management, and recognition of post-procedural complications.
- Telemetry skills checklist completed prior to submission.
- Strong communication, collaboration, critical thinking, organizational, and time management skills.
- Epic experience preferred by the facility.
Pay: $68.00 - $73.00 per hour
