Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) provide compassionate, hands-on support to children and adolescents receiving behavioral health treatment. BHTs ensure patient safety, assist with daily living skills, model positive behaviors, and help youth develop healthy coping and problem-solving strategies.
This role requires individuals who can remain calm under pressure, respond effectively during crises, and build positive relationships that support treatment goals and long-term success.
Provide continuous supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
Build positive relationships with youth while serving as a trusted role model.
Support daily living activities and encourage personal responsibility.
Assist patients in developing social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
Review treatment plans and implement assigned interventions.
Use de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies when needed.
Facilitate and support structured activities and therapeutic programming.
Create a safe, nurturing, and positive living and learning environment.
Complete documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
Collaborate with treatment teams to ensure the highest quality of care.
Assist with transportation, appointments, meal preparation, and household responsibilities as needed.
Participate in meetings, shift transitions, training, and ongoing professional development.
Age Requirement
Education
Licensure
Valid driver's license.
Current auto insurance.
Experience & Skills
One to three months of related experience and/or training in a behavioral health, human services, education, childcare, or related setting preferred.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain professional, calm, and solutions-focused in challenging situations.
This position requires the ability to:
Stand, walk, talk, hear, and actively supervise youth throughout the shift.
Frequently use hands, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and climb as necessary.
Occasionally sit for documentation and administrative duties.
Regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds.
Frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.
Maintain visual awareness and attention to surroundings for safety purposes.

Shifts & Differentials
Shifts are as follows:
Day Shift 7am-3:30pm
Evening Shift 3pm-11:30pm
Overnight Shift 11pm-7:30am
Shift Differentials are:
Weekday evenings: $3.00
Weekday overnight: $2.00
Weekend (Friday at 7pm-Monday 7am) $2.00
