Gray's Towing is currently looking for a full time heavy duty CDL class A wrecker operator with one weekday off and every other weekend off, Contact us for details. Pay depends on wrecker operator specific experience. Drivers are paid an hourly rate, starting at $20/hour, up to $30/hr during office hours, and 35% commission after hours and weekends.
General Requirements
CDL CLASS A REQUIRED. HEAVY DUTY TOWING EXPERIENCE HIGHLY PREFERED, BUT NOT REQUIRED. MUST LIVE WITHIN 5-10 MINUTES OF THE EASTGATE MALL AREA.
Be able to drive a manual transmission
Be able to back a truck/trailer into a tight spot
Must be at least 21 years of age for insurance purposes
Have a good driving record (no more than 4 points, with 2 ready to fall off)
Have a clean background check
Be able to perform multiple tasks
Must be flexible and able to adapt to change when necessary
Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs., sit and stand for long periods of time
Able to pass DOT physical
Energetic, motivated team player
Be able to work in all weather conditions
Have a professional work ethic and be customer service orientated
Communicate well with customers
Able to perform actual job duties in front of someone accurately and efficiently
VERY IMPORTANT - We are looking for someone that lives local to the following areas, within a 5-10 minute drive to our shop: Union Township, Anderson Township, some of Batavia Township, some of Miami Township. This is mandatory due to the fact that our drivers are on call with their trucks at home ready to go, and we have to maintain our extremely short response time to our customers (police, fire, stranded customers)
