Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and compassionate Patient Intake Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from the moment they arrive. Your energetic approach will help facilitate efficient appointment scheduling, accurate data collection, and seamless communication between patients and medical staff. Your expertise in medical administrative support and health regulation policies will be essential in maintaining compliance and delivering exceptional patient service.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and verify their appointment details with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Collect, review, and accurately input patient information into Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records
- Confirm insurance coverage, explain billing procedures, and assist with insurance documentation using your health insurance knowledge
- Ensure all patient forms are completed correctly while adhering to health regulation policies and privacy standards
- Schedule appointments efficiently, coordinate follow-ups, and manage patient flow to minimize wait times
- Communicate clearly with medical staff regarding patient arrivals, special needs, or urgent concerns
- Maintain organized records of patient interactions, appointments, and insurance information in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Participate in marketing and community outreach activities as needed , represent the company professionally in the community, build referral sources and community partners
- Visit nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, physicians offices and senior centers.
- Conduct presentations to educate healthcare professionals, patients, families and community members about our homecare services.

Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office environment or dental office setting is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of health regulation policies related to patient privacy and data security (such as HIPAA)
- Proven ability to support medical administrative functions using EMR/EHR systems effectively
- Familiarity with medical terminology to accurately interpret patient information and communicate with healthcare providers
- Experience managing health insurance details, claims processing, or billing procedures is a plus
- Office experience demonstrating organizational skills, attention to detail, and multitasking capabilities

Pay: $16.53 - $22.30 per hour
