Contracted Mail Carrier – Ripley, WV (Immediate Opening)
Location: Ripley, WV 25271
Pay: Starting at $150 per day
Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Schedule: Monday–Saturday | Start Time: 7:00 AM
Route Length: Approximately 8 hours per day (varies depending on mail volume and efficiency)
West Franklin Investments LLC is seeking a dependable, self-motivated individual to operate a contracted USPS mail delivery route based in Ripley, West Virginia.
This is a long-term, stable contract position that offers consistent work for someone who enjoys working independently while providing an important service to the community.
What You'll Do
- Sort and deliver USPS mail and packages on an assigned route
- Safely operate a company-provided delivery vehicle
- Work independently while meeting USPS service standards
- Deliver mail accurately and efficiently in all weather conditions
- Maintain professional communication with postal personnel and company management
- Conduct basic daily vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance concerns
Compensation
- Starting Pay: $150 per route day
- Paid monthly

- Drivers who demonstrate exceptional attendance, reliability, safe driving, efficiency, professionalism, and strong communication are eligible for performance-based pay increases.
Vehicle
A company vehicle is provided for normal route operations.
Drivers should understand that if the company vehicle becomes unavailable due to mechanical breakdown, accident, or other unforeseen circumstances, they may be required to temporarily use their own suitable vehicle to ensure uninterrupted mail service until the company vehicle is repaired or replaced.
Training
Paid training is provided.
Training days are compensated upon successful completion of the training period and commencement of independent route operations.
Applicants who discontinue employment before successfully completing training and assuming independent responsibility for the route will not be eligible for training compensation.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a USPS background investigation
- Ability to pass a drug screening
- Able to lift up to 70 pounds
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong English communication skills
- Dependable transportation to and from the Ripley Post Office
- Smartphone capable of receiving calls, texts, and work-related communication

Important Position Details
- This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position.
- Contractors are responsible for their own federal, state, and local taxes.
- No health insurance, retirement, overtime, or other employee benefits are provided.
- Attendance is critical. Mail delivery is an essential public service, and contractors are expected to report as scheduled.
- Drivers are expected to communicate promptly regarding vehicle issues, route delays, or emergencies.
- Background investigation and USPS approval are required before beginning work.
Hiring Process
