Job Summary:
Performs duties involved in checking charge tickets against supplies used and needed and restocking accordingly. Participates in performance improvement activities. Committed to excellence through the continuous improvement of the quality of services delivered. Strives to continuously improve patient and employee satisfaction.
Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:
Receives, stores and issues materials, supplies and equipment.
Unpacks or uncrates items received, using proper equipment.
Inspects incoming shipment for damage or defects.
Verifies accuracy of shipment against pack slip.
Records and reports discrepancies or damage in shipment.
Carries or conveys by hand, truck items from receiving area and stores according to established procedures.
Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations
Takes items from stock to fill requisitions and delivers them to requesting department.
Takes physical count daily of stock on hand and verifies with par levels.
Assists with supply and equipment inventories as required.
Ensures stock is labeled before it is delivered.
Postmarks mail daily and deliver to front mailbox

Maintains regulatory requirements, including all federal, state, local regulations and accrediting organization standards.
Maintains and ensures patient and employee confidentiality at all times.
Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
Wears identification while on duty.
Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, departments and staff.
Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
Identifies location of fire alarms and fire extinguishers in area.
Knows appropriate response to codes.
Able to locate MSDS.
Meets the patient’s needs, regardless of whether or not the need is related to “your” specific area, maintaining a positive customer relations atmosphere.
Demonstrates understanding of policies on ethics.
Trains other employees.
Understands and is familiar with basic office equipment.
Determines the nature of the calls and properly transfers them to the appropriate department or person.
Provides information to callers as provided for by policy.
Calls personnel upon request, relays code pages as directed, and makes announcements or pages as required in emergency situations or by specific hospital plans.
Regulatory Requirements:
- Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
Language Skills:
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Additional languages preferred.
