Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use according to infection control protocols.
- Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry with precision and efficiency.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to radiation safety standards and ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate diagnosis.
- Manage medical documentation by updating electronic health records (EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency and patient comfort during treatments.
- Conduct vital signs assessments and medical history updates to support comprehensive patient care.
- Process dental instruments following sterilization procedures, maintain clinical confidentiality policies, and ensure infection prevention management throughout daily operations.
- Support the dental reception team by managing patient check-ins, scheduling appointments, and handling medical coding for billing purposes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry with a strong understanding of dental terminology and anatomy knowledge.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; experience with medical documentation and medical records management.
- Certification in dental x-ray technology; knowledge of dental sterilization procedures and infection control practices including aseptic technique.
- Familiarity with advanced dental procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and the use of a 3D scanner for diagnostic purposes.
- Ability to perform dental instrument processing efficiently while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
- Strong communication skills suitable for interacting with patients of all ages, including pediatrics; experience as a dental receptionist is a plus.
- Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards; ability to work effectively within clinical confidentiality policies.
- Demonstrated ability to support four-handed dentistry techniques with excellent chairside assisting skills.

Pay: $29.00 - $37.00 per hour
