Description:
Polston Tax Resolution and Accounting is hiring a Tax Manager. The Tax Manager will be responsible for the preparation & review of income tax returns for individuals & businesses, calculating estimated tax payments, and general oversight of other team members.

Supervise and mentor staff.

Work with the Senior Tax Accountants to ensure their team members are meeting goals, following required process, etc.

Contact and meet with clients via email/phone/mail to request documentation necessary to prepare or review tax returns and/or address client concerns.

Review more complex income tax returns, providing guidance and support to team members and clients.

Conduct tax research and analysis to support planning and compliance efforts.

Evaluate processes and assist with further strategic development within the department.

Assist with recruiting and hiring for the tax department as well as disciplinary meetings.

Oversee the management of tax-related inventory and ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date.

Requirements:
The Tax Manager possesses a minimum of 10 years of experience preparing other individuals’ tax returns & business returns and 5 years of experience mentoring less experienced professionals.

Bachelor’s degree required.

Enrolled Agent or CPA required.

Background in federal income tax.

Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising and mentoring staff.

Minimum of 2 years of public accounting experience with a tax focus.

Capacity to problem solve & research tax issues effectively.

Ability to convey confidence in regular client interactions.

The ability to accomplish/complete a task while demonstrating a thorough concern for all the areas involved, no matter how small with a proven track record of a quality work product.
