Who You Are:
We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Housekeeper. This person will have a genuine interest in working with older adults and be able to engage, motivate, and support both residents and fellow team members. The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, and aligned with our values of respect, excellence, and community. Essential Functions:

General cleaning duties consisting of cleaning ceilings, vents, exhaust fans, light fixtures, windows, mirrors, drapes, walls, doors, cove base, tile floors, carpets, showers, bathtubs, sinks, toilets, curtains, furniture, refrigerators, waste containers, cleaning equipment, cleaning carts, elevators, handrails, telephones, televisions and stairs.

Keeps all housekeeping storage facilities in a clean, organized manner.

Informs the Housekeeping Director or Designee of any problems or concerns related to the department.

Assure that work schedules are followed and specific tasks are performed in accordance with the daily work assignments.
- Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures. Assure that water marks are removed from fixtures.
- Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways.
- Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping. Assure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.
- Clean carpets, to include vacuuming.
- Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.

Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions, to include hand rails, bed rails, furniture tops, legs, backs and seats and light covers/shades within reach without a ladder.
- Clean hallways, stairways, and elevators.

Clean vacant rooms as assigned.

Perform terminal cleaning procedures as instructed when a resident is discharged and/or transferred to another room/area.

Follow established policies governing infection control.
- Assure that an infectious waste is discarded into appropriate containers.

Honor the residents personal and property rights

Report any building/equipment maintenance issues

Dispose of waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacles with plastic liners.
- Ensure housekeeping cart/bucket is cleaned on a regular basis, but at least monthly.

Ensure housekeeping cart is restocked with necessary chemicals, paper products, etc at the end of your shift.

Maintain an excellent working relationship with other departments.

Attend and participate in facility and department meetings and in-service training as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area.

Maintain work area and keep the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards.

Effectively communicates both verbally and in writing.

Demonstrates the community hospitality promises towards residents, families, associates and vendors.

Other related duties and responsibilities that may become necessary or as directed by the supervisor.
- Must be able to read, write and follow written and verbal directions.

High School education or GED preferred, but not required.

Must be able to stand or walk for 6-8 hours in an 8 hour workday.
- Must report for duty as scheduled and on time

Position prefers a minimum of one to three years' experience in housekeeping, preferably in a hospitality or health care environment.
