About the Role
Classover is seeking a passionate and engaging Competition Math Teacher to join our APEX program, a premier training pathway designed to support students in building strong mathematical foundations and progressing through competition math over time.
This role primarily focuses on AMC 8 and similar competition levels, working with upper elementary and middle school students. You will help students develop problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and confidence in a structured, in-person classroom environment.
We are looking for an educator who can deliver high-quality instruction while making math both accessible and enjoyable for young learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, in-person instruction for AMC 8–level mathematics and similar competition programs, teaching core topics including number theory, combinatorics, algebra, and geometry.
- Create a structured, interactive, and supportive classroom environment. Guide students in developing problem-solving strategies and mathematical reasoning.
- Take ownership of the APEX math curriculum. Continuously refine, update, and develop new course materials, problem sets, and mock exams to ensure our program remains at the cutting edge.
- Prepare students for the high-pressure environment of math competitions with targeted strategies, mock tests, and in-depth performance analysis. Support students in building a strong foundation for future competition pathways
- Communicate proactively with parents, providing regular updates on student progress, identifying areas for growth, and aligning on long-term educational goals.
- Collaborate with the team on other instructional initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1-2 years of experience teaching or tutoring AMC 8 or similar math competitions (e.g., Math Kangaroo, MathCounts); demonstrated student achievement is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mathematics or a related field
- Passion for working with students in grades 4–8
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
Strongly Preferred Qualifications
- Your own personal success in high-level math competitions (e.g., AIME qualifier, USAMO/USAJMO participant, or similar) is a significant asset.
- Experience designing and writing curriculum for advanced math programs.
- Familiarity with U.S. math competition pathways

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
