Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Dietary Manager and Food Services Director, where you will lead the planning, organization, and management of comprehensive food service operations within a healthcare and assisted living setting. This pivotal role combines clinical nutrition expertise with management skills to ensure the delivery of nutritious, safe, and compliant food services that enhance resident well-being. You will oversee dietary departments, supervise food production teams, and ensure adherence to health regulations while fostering a positive environment focused on quality care and exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement nutritious meal plans tailored to residents’ dietary needs, including specialized diets such as tube feeding and clinical nutrition protocols.
- Manage daily food service operations, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food safety management and health code adherence.
- Supervise and lead food service teams, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to promote a motivated and efficient workforce.
- Monitor budgetary expenditures, manage food inventory, and oversee food production processes to optimize cost-efficiency without compromising quality.
- Ensure all food service activities meet regulatory standards related to health policies, safety guidelines, and licensing requirements.
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living or acute care environments with a strong understanding of patient assessment and clinical nutrition.
- Expertise in managing food service teams with supervisory experience in dietary or food production departments.
- Knowledge of health regulation policies related to food safety management, food service health code compliance, and nutrition standards.
- Strong management skills including budgeting, resource allocation, and team leadership to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records related to dietetics and care plans.
- Excellent communication skills for health coaching, staff training, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
