About Rijsttafel
Rijsttafel is a new fast casual Southeast Asian kitchen in Mount Vernon. We serve build-your-own rice bowls, Banh Mi sandwiches, rice noodle salads, Gado Gado, steamed buns, and other flavorful menu items in a quick-service food hall setting.
Position Overview
We are looking for dependable, friendly, hard-working team members who are willing to help wherever needed. Team members will assist with food prep, assembling orders, counter service, cashiering, cleaning, and daily restaurant operations.
Responsibilities
Team members may be responsible for:
- Preparing ingredients and following recipes
- Assembling menu items according to Rijsttafel standards
- Serving guests at the counter in a friendly and professional way
- Taking orders and checking guests out using the POS system
- Keeping the line stocked, clean, and organized
- Following food safety and sanitation procedures
- Washing dishes and maintaining a clean work area
- Assisting with opening and closing duties
- Helping with inventory, restocking, and prep lists
- Working as part of a small team and stepping in where needed

- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds

Experience
Restaurant, food service, prep cook, line cook, cashier, or customer service experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person.
Schedule
Daytime, evening, and weekend availability may be needed. Scheduling will depend on business needs and position level.
