Overview
Join our highly esteemed dance education team as an Assistant Dance Teacher for a one-of-a kind studio and waitlisted program. You will support master teachers in delivering engaging dance lessons that foster creativity, confidence, and technical skill. Duties
- Assist lead dance instructors in executing engaging lesson plans across various dance styles such as ballet, contemporary and modern.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment for students of all skill levels.
- Help supervise students during classes, ensuring proper behavior management and positive reinforcement.
- Provide individual or small-group tutoring to reinforce technique, choreography, or early childhood development concepts.
- Support special education needs by adapting lessons and activities to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Assist with event preparations including rehearsals, performances, and community outreach activities.
- Assist in organizational tasks such as costume ordering & delivery, prop organization, keeping attendance, retail stocking, etc .
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or in early childhood education settings is highly desirable.
- Extensive dance background as a dancer.
- Teaching or assisting experience preferred.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques to foster positive behavior and engagement among students.
- Skills in photography or videography are a plus for collecting content for social and marketing platforms.
- Ability to take direction and also anticipate needs of lead instructors & classroom as a self-starter- anticipating needs and problems.
- Background in ballet or other classical dance forms; additional skills like sewing, prop production/design, marketing, organization, etc. can be utilized and provide additional hours.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
