Duties
- Assist with menu planning and food preparation to ensure timely delivery of meals that meet dietary guidelines and customer preferences
- Support kitchen operations by handling food safely, following proper food handling procedures, and maintaining cleanliness standards
- Prepare ingredients and cook dishes using appropriate culinary techniques and knife skills to ensure quality and presentation
- Serve meals to residents or customers in a courteous, efficient manner, ensuring excellent food service experiences
- Help with catering events or special meal occasions, coordinating with team members to meet event requirements
- Maintain accurate records of food inventory, storage conditions, and safety compliance checks
- Support dietary aides in meal assembly, portioning, and ensuring all meals adhere to nutritional standards
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide, with a strong understanding of food safety and handling protocols
- Hands-on experience in menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly in a restaurant or food industry setting
- Skilled in food service operations, including serving customers and managing food presentation
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, including knife skills, food industry best practices, and catering procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
- Strong understanding of dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements for diverse populations
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and support staff
