We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly motivated Registered Nurse to join our new plastic surgery practice with an in-office operating suite. Additional practice details will be shared with qualified candidates during the interview process. This is a key clinical role for a nurse who is comfortable working in a patient-focused environment and has experience in the operating room, PACU, post-operative recovery, or outpatient procedural care.
The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work well as part of a small team. This position requires excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a willingness to assist with multiple aspects of the practice as we grow.
In this role, the RN will serve as an operating room circulator, PACU/recovery nurse, clinical nurse, and sterile processing support. Because this is a new private practice, the RN should also be comfortable assisting with back-office and occasional front-office duties when needed.
Operating room and PACU experience is required. At least 2 years of Plastic surgery experience is required.
Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing safe, high-quality nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Serve as the operating room circulator during surgical procedures.
- Assist with patient preparation, positioning, surgical counts, documentation, and intraoperative support.
- Maintain strict sterile technique and infection-control standards.
- Provide PACU/recovery nursing care, including monitoring vital signs, airway status, pain level, nausea, bleeding, dressings, drains, and overall recovery.
- Start and maintain IV lines as appropriate.
- Administer medications and injections in accordance with provider orders and nursing scope of practice.
- Perform pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments.
- Provide post-operative education, discharge instructions, and patient/family teaching.
- Assist with wound care, dressing changes, suture removal, drain care/removal, catheter care, and other clinical procedures.
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the EMR system.
- Assist with emergency response protocols and recognize changes in patient condition that require immediate attention.
- Clean and prepare operating rooms, procedure rooms, exam rooms, and recovery areas according to established policies.
- Perform or assist with sterile processing, instrument cleaning, sterilization, and equipment preparation.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies, surgical supplies, medications, and equipment.
- Assist with rooming patients, answering phones, scheduling support, supply organization, cleaning, and other front/back-office duties as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Texas
- Current BLS certification
- Prior nursing experience in a clinical, surgical, procedural, PACU, or outpatient setting
- Strong understanding of sterile technique, infection control, HIPAA, and patient safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Professional appearance and patient-centered attitude
- Ability to lift, move, or assist patients as needed
- 2 years of Plastic Surgery Experience
- Operating room circulator experience
- PACU or post-anesthesia recovery experience
Preferred:
- ACLS certification
- Experience with IV starts, venipuncture, phlebotomy, injections, wound care, drains, and post-operative care
- Experience with sterile processing and surgical instrument sterilization
- Experience using EMR/EHR systems
- Bilingual in Spanish

Pay
$40.00 per hour
