Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty dump trucks to transport construction materials, debris, and other freight efficiently and safely across various job sites. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, route navigation, and cargo handling will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Load and unload cargo with manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securement of hazardous materials and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes.
- Transport freight efficiently between job sites, warehouses, and distribution centers while maintaining accurate delivery logs.
- Conduct routine inspections of trucks before and after trips, checking for mechanical issues or safety hazards.
- Maintain compliance with all safety protocols related to hazardous materials, including proper documentation and handling procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery status, and any issues encountered during transit.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for tractor-trailers, hazardous materials (Hazmat), and tanker vehicles preferred.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation with a focus on route driving.
- Familiarity with FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck loading/unloading.
- Experience operating various truck types such as flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, or automobile transportation units is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of GPS navigation systems and logistics cargo handling procedures.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while loading/unloading cargo or securing freight.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; ability to operate manual transmission vehicles is desirable.
- Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and perform routine vehicle inspections.
