Position Summary: This position will assist in navigation of patients, schedule, and administer the Community Paramedicine Program (CPP) including the electronic patient care database and healthcare partners and coordinate Community Paramedicine day to day operations. Develop priorities, service levels and schedules. Ensure quality delivery of emergency medical services in support of the Community Paramedicine Program.
Critical Tasks:
- Evaluates data, identifying methods of providing effective integrated care, identifying methods to correct complex medical issues and patient care delivery situations and designing quality improvement programs to measure program outcome and effectiveness.
- Scheduling, preparing, staffing and follow-up on Action Items for meetings associated with, MIH and associated meetings.
- Complies fully with all patient medical records and information privacy regulations, state and federal.
- Takes all steps necessary to fully ensure employee patient and medical data confidentiality and security by all clinic staff.
- Performs systematized service quality assurance and improvement evaluations based upon data analytics and recommends/justifies service improvement initiatives as derived from such evaluations.
- Formulates and recommends updated service and program designs to meet the changing care needs of the community.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all governmental and regulatory standards and requirements.
- Collects, analyzes, and interprets service data significant to program planning and budget preparation, and continually evaluates the need for improvements based upon patient outcomes.
- Develops and delivers high quality training programs and ensures that such programs translate to improved services and/or medical outcomes.
- Communicates thoroughly and productively with other employees on all work-related subjects.
- Maintains a highly productive and contributive work style in pursuit of the organization’s mission.
- Participates in establishing programs for professional development of staff.
- Remains grounded upon the field and operational realities of Emergency Medical Services without distraction by unproven theories, personal philosophies, or distractions created by unknowing individuals.
- Provides recommendations regarding equipment to be replaced or supplemented.
- Demonstrates ability to clearly communicate, both orally and in writing, while performing all essential functions.
- Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Associates’ Degree from an accredited university in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Fire Science or Emergency Medical Services. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Four or more successful years of experience in an Emergency Medical Services field or closely related subject.
- CPR, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications at a minimum, with Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic certification strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures.
- Interest in medical subjects, patient services/care, and customer service.
- Experience supervising employees preferred
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job, may be substituted for evaluation at the discretion of EMS management
