Duties
- Assist with food preparation including chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients for various dishes
- Support cooking processes such as grilling, braising, poaching, and food production to ensure timely meal service
- Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitizing procedures to uphold hygiene regulations
- Help with food handling, storage, and inventory management to ensure freshness and safety
- Support the kitchen team during high-volume production periods and catering events
- Ensure cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment following food safety management guidelines
- Assist with meal assembly and serving in accordance with menu specifications and customer needs
Requirements
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required
- Demonstrated experience in food service or restaurant environments with knowledge of menu planning and food preparation techniques
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with cooking methods such as grilling, braising, poaching, and food handling procedures
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and high-volume production practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting kitchen operations
- Previous experience in fine dining or catering environments is a plus but not mandatory
