Under General supervision of the Shift Supervisor, Senior Plant Operator(s) will maintain and report changes in plant loading, fuel selection, steam flow. Assist line crews dispatch center in switching, deenergizing and reenergizing of the electrical transmission system and the station auxiliaries. Adhering to guidelines and following well-established routines in the performance of regular assigned duties; reports abnormal conditions, report and correct environmental emission operational compliance, faulty equipment, or accidents to supervisor for action. Complete work is reviewed on basis of results obtained and reports submitted. Because the Authority has a primary responsibility to serve the public 24 hours per day an employee in this class is expected to work overtime as conditions demands and may be required to accept overtime on short notice during emergency or unusual conditions and to perform essential work as assigned.
Graduation from a vocational high school including or supplemented by courses in the mechanical or electrical trades, and five years of progressively responsible experience in power and water plant operation, five years of which must have been as a Plant Operator 1st Class.
