Job Title: Lumber Handler
Location: Thompson Appalachian Hardwoods, Huntland, TN
Job Type: Full-Time
- 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM-1:00 AM | Monday-Friday
Position Overview:
Thompson Appalachian Hardwoods is seeking dedicated and hardworking Lumber Handlers to join our team at our sawmill in Huntland, TN. Lumber Handlers will be responsible for assisting with the movement, sorting, stacking, and storing of lumber as it moves through various stages of production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lumber Handling: Load, unload, stack, and organize lumber products.
- Sorting and Storing: Sort lumber by size, grade, and type; stack and store materials in designated areas for easy access and organization.
- Safety: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment; use appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) as required.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a lumber yard, sawmill, or warehouse environment is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials, ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Safety Conscious: Must adhere to safety standards and wear required safety equipment.
- Communication: Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
