Job Overview
Trident Site Development is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Project Manager to oversee civil site-development projects from contract award through completion and closeout.
This is a contractor-side project management position focused on project execution, financial performance, scheduling, resource planning, and coordination between the office and field. Our projects typically range from $1 million to $7 million and include multifamily, residential, commercial, school, and government developments throughout the greater Central Florida area.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes initiative, stays ahead of project needs, and follows issues through to resolution without requiring constant direction. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their projects, anticipates potential problems, and understands how to balance field production, scheduling, costs, and client expectations.
This position typically manages a portfolio of five to seven projects at various stages of construction and reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in Mount Dora, Florida, with regular visits to assigned project sites.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage assigned civil site-development projects from contract award through final completion and closeout.
- Oversee a portfolio of approximately five to seven projects at various stages of construction.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed project schedules.
- Manage project budgets, cost projections, change orders, and overall financial performance.
- Prepare and submit monthly pay applications accurately and on time.
- Plan and coordinate labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other project resources.
- Monitor project costs and production to ensure work remains within the established budget.
- Oversee subcontractor performance, scheduling, and compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate closely with superintendents and field personnel to maintain production and resolve operational issues.
- Lead and participate in owner, contractor, and internal project meetings.
- Identify potential schedule, cost, procurement, and resource issues before they affect the work.
- Maintain clear communication between clients, field leadership, subcontractors, vendors, and company management.
- Work with the assigned Project Engineer, who will assist with RFIs, submittals, subcontractor coordination, and project documentation.
- Maintain organized and accurate project records throughout the life of each project.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and follow issues through to resolution.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of project management experience specifically within civil construction or site development.
- Working knowledge of earthwork, underground utilities, lift stations, concrete work, and pavement construction.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, pay applications, cost projections, resources, subcontractors, meetings, and field coordination.
- Working experience with HCSS HeavyBid for project budgets, change-order pricing, and related project cost management.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities without losing control of critical details.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make sound project-management decisions.
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
- Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and company leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating and maintaining construction schedules using Primavera P6.
- Familiarity with HCSS HeavyJob or similar construction-management and cost-tracking software.
- Experience managing civil site-development projects ranging from $1 million to $7 million.
- Experience with multifamily, residential, commercial, school, or government construction projects.
