Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service by understanding their needs and recommending suitable bicycles, sporting equipment, and accessories
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for retail sales transactions, including cash handling, credit card processing, and managing cash drawers
- Conduct product demonstrations and explain features to enhance customer understanding and encourage upselling of related items or accessories
- Assist with stocking shelves, organizing merchandise displays, and maintaining an attractive store layout that highlights key products
- Perform merchandising tasks such as pricing, labeling, and ensuring product availability to maximize sales opportunities
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels, assisting with stock replenishment, and conducting periodic inventory counts
- Uphold phone etiquette standards when answering customer inquiries via phone or online channels
Experience
- Prior retail sales experience is preferred, especially in sporting goods or grocery store environments that require strong product knowledge and customer interaction skills
- Supervising experience is a plus; ability to lead by example in delivering excellent service and assisting team members when needed
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and basic retail math for accurate transactions and cash handling
- Experience in product demos or upselling techniques to promote additional sales opportunities effectively
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous to serve a diverse customer base better
- Strong communication skills coupled with excellent phone etiquette are essential for engaging customers both in person and over the phone
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising strategies, and stock management will help you succeed in this role
