Overview
The Dental Administrator oversees the business operations of Betances Dental practice, encompassing financial management, staff supervision, patient care coordination, and ensuring smooth office functioning, all while adhering to regulations. Reporting directly to the Director Operations, and working collaboratively with the Dental Director, and CMO.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative:
- Manage day-to-day operations of dental office, direct staff assignments and activities in accordance with office policies and applicable laws. Collaborate with Operations, Medical, Finance, Purchasing, Maintenance/Facilities.
- Manage and monitor patient flow; manage and direct staff assignments and activities
- Orient and train new staff.
- Provide support to Dental Director for problem solving to address issues relating to patient safety, care and service.
- Provide back up for Dental PCR to schedule appointments, other office responsibilities.
- Represent Dental department in meetings and committees as needed or assigned.
- Effectively work with all providers, staff, other departments, the community and leadership.
Dental Program:
- Acts as SuperUser for eCW and provide support to Dental Team.
- Utilize dashboard reports to monitor patient satisfaction, no-shows, walk-outs, etc., and develop correction plans.
- Provide non-clinical in-service training.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and established agency and departmental objectives, quality assurance program, safety and infection control standards.
- Work with Dental Director to identify and drive quality and performance improvement initiatives and implement new initiatives and programs.
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma/GED required, Associates Degree preferred.
- Registered Dental Hygienist, Certified Dental Assistant preferred.
- Minimum 3 years dental work experience in ambulatory care required.
- Knowledge of patient registration practices, managed care, Medicare and Medicaid guidelines and uninsured patients.
- Familiar with regulatory compliance – Article 28, HRSA, OSHA, NCQA, etc.
- Excellent computer skills and proficient in MS365 with electronic dental experience.
- Expertise in Microsoft Access and Excel.
- Familiarity with Dental EHR systems; experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
