Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
· Experience in Early Childhood Education program preferred
· Must complete Medication Administration Certification to provide meds as needed
· Good oral and written communication skills.
General Intent of the Position:
The Teacher will use principles of developmentally appropriate practice. The person will be able to communicate age-appropriately with children and effectively with adults. The Teacher is responsible for classroom activities including curriculum planning, and enhancing awareness and promoting acceptance of individual and cultural diversity. The Teacher delegates responsibilities among team members, including volunteers and interns. The Teacher is responsible for maintaining health and safety guidelines. The Teacher will be knowledgeable of policies and procedures and cooperate with staff and the Director in supporting the mission and goals of the school. The Teacher reports to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and implement activities that foster the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development and well-being of each child.
2. Supervise children.
3. Foster ongoing communication with parents that promotes consistency in meeting the needs of the children.
4. Maintain open communication with classroom staff and parents regarding developmentally appropriate practice.
5. Provide the opportunity for at least two parent/teacher conferences per year.
6. Maintain the room, supplies, and equipment in a clean, organized environment.
7. Complete and submit timely, accurate paperwork; including but not limited to, monthly attendance reports and bi-annual child assessments.
8. Communicate relevant Campus Pre-School information to the staff under the Teacher’s supervision.
9. Conduct annual evaluations of the staff under the Teacher’s supervision in conjunction with the Assistant Director.
10. Attend staff meetings and training to meet OCFS requirements.
11. Upgrade to classroom portfolio’s per NAEYC Accreditation Standards
12. Demonstrate professionalism and maintain confidentiality in all program matters.
13. Assume other responsibilities as assigned or approved of by the Assistant Director or the Director.
Pay: From $18.50 per hour
