American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring MA RN licensure, AWHONN Intermediate certification, and Epic experience.

Work within the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
-
Assigned to a maternity float pool, requiring coverage of both L&D and Postpartum (PP)
-
Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 18:45-07:15), with consideration for 3x12 schedules
-
36 hours per week with every other weekend and holiday required
-
Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days

Utilizes Epic charting system

13 or 26-week contract length options available
-
Active MA RN license required (temp/conditional license accepted at time of submission, must apply within 48 hours of offer)
-
3 years of L&D experience strongly preferred; will consider 1-2+ years with prior travel experience

AWHONN Intermediate certification (or above) required
-
Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required

Epic EMR experience required

Must pass pass/fail medication exam and telemetry exam at orientation (1 attempt each; failure results in contract cancellation)

Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and fetal monitoring (external and internal)

Experience with labor induction/augmentation medications (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications) required
-
Postpartum care skills including fundus/lochia/perineum assessment and Foley catheter management required
-
Responsibilities include managing labor and delivery care, neonatal care in the delivery room, antepartum monitoring, and postpartum recovery
-
Duties include fetal heart rate monitoring, IUPC placement/calibration, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
-
May assist with surgical procedures such as cervical cerclage and C-section recovery

Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
-
Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
-
Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, though no RTO is allowed during the first week of the assignment
-
First-time travelers will be considered if coming from a teaching hospital with relevant experience
-
Study materials are provided to support required orientation exams
